Me in the Keyhole on Duck Hawk Rock

Smoky Mountain Shots

These are some of the odd photos from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I have always loved hiking in these mountains.

One of my favorite photos is of the shelter on Mount Kephart. It is also known as Ice Water Springs Shelter. I was the first person on the trail after fresh snow and go some great snow photos that day.
The perfect day... the perfect photo.

These photos are high resolution scans of slide photography.

On the same day I went out toward Charlie's Bunion. As I approached Masa Knob, a big gust of wind blew snow off of the trees and I grabbed my camera and started snapping photos.

The "whoosh" of snow created a great effect.

As I continued down the trail toward this outcropping I got another great shot. Once again, click here for a large 192 kb version.

Before you get to the shelter shown above, you must go past a trail intersection known as "The Junction". If you click on this large version (446 kb) you can see incredible detail in the sign and the snow!

On the way back I got this great shot of the Chimney Tops!
